Recreational Soccer Program Overview

The Port St. Lucie Soccer Club has been serving the youth of St Lucie County for over 40 years.

Information about our Recreation Program.

For the PSL Recreational Soccer Seasons (Fall and Spring), players are responsible for shin guards, ball, water, and cleats/athletic shoes.  For the Fall Season each player will get a complete uniform consisting of: Game Jersey, Training Jersey, Socks and Shorts. For the Spring Season each player will get a Game Jersey and Training Jersey only and will be responsible for the socks and shorts. Many players that participate in the Fall Season wear their socks and shorts for Spring. The color for the shorts and socks are usually black. Recreational Registration Fees cover the cost of the uniform, referee fees, insurance and administrative fees. Players are selected to teams via a "blind draft" so that teams are not stacked to win. The idea for recreational soccer is for each player to play in a fun environment while beginning to grow and develop as an individual and as a member of a team. Teams will practice on a Monday, Wednesday, or Friday evening depending on the team that they are placed on. A complete list of practice times and days will be available once the teams are formed and coaches are assigned a time and training area. Below you will find some brief info on the PSL Hurricanes Recreational Soccer Program. If you are new to the area, making a decision on where to play and on what sport to select can be daunting. Soccer is a game for all ages and skill levels and we hope that here at the Port St Lucie Soccer Club we can satisfy your needs and exceed your expectations.

Recreational Soccer is just what that name implies. There's not an emphasis on "Win at all Cost" and all players will have equal playing time. This program is not like our Competitive Program where players are selected at a try out. Recreational Soccer places all players on teams regardless of the player's skill level or experience so that everyone plays. Players that excel in the Recreational Program will be encouraged to participate in our Recreational All-Star Program where teams of equal skill levels compete with other neighboring clubs. The players selected to this program will be invited to try out for our Competitive Program. For the Fall and Spring Recreational Season, Micro (U6) and U8 games are played on Friday evenings and their Recreational Season concludes with an awards ceremony and an end of season party. For our U10, U12, U14, and High School ages, the games are played on Saturdays starting at 8:00AM and concluding by 2:00PM.

The Fall Season usually begins in late-August and runs through the 1st week of December.

The Spring Season usually starts in mid-March and runs to late-May ending before Memorial Day.
